Our pricing for translations is based on the word count of the source text. This has the advantage that it will be clear from the beginning what the translation will cost and that the costs will not depend on the length of the translation. We therefore quote fixed prices for translations.
The price per word depends on various factors. Common European languages cost less than languages with different character sets such as Chinese or Arabic. We also account for the subject area and the difficulty of the text and for the desired deadline. We offer discounts if your order large volumes or translations of the same text into more than one language at the same time.
Factors considered for the price per word:
- target language
- subject area and difficulty of source text
- order volume
- urgency
We offer lower prices per word for repetitions within your project and - if a Translation Memory is available - for repetitions from previous translations.
We will be happy to offer you a fixed price for your translation once you have made available your files to us for analysis.
- Provide us with terminology lists and if applicable with translations of earlier versions.
- Avoid unnecessarily long wording and repetitions already during preparation of e.g. a manual.
- Make your document available to us in a directly editable format such as doc, rtf, txt, ppt, html, htm, xml.
You will find a price list for our software localization tool Visual Localize here.
